So, instead of a list, just one racial, their active one, could be different. For this guide though, I will be following the first method, though the second one is still a possible option and if used, the names in the races below could provide some inspiration to the community.
Compendium of the fallen full#
The key difference is that giving them a full set of separate racials would just cause them to feel like a separate race altogether, and that’s not an appearance that they’d probably give off, but it is a possibility for further distinguishing them as they do have vastly different lifestyles and backstorys sometimes. While they are not full fledged different members of a completely separate species, giving them something unique helps to truly differentiate them as a feature and gives the feel that you’re actually playing something a bit different than the regular races we’ve grown used to.
(See below)Īnother detail to consider is the possibility of giving them different racials. In numerous cases they could easily use the same as their main race, but one of them, The Forsaken High Elves would require something slightly different than being raised from the Deathknell Graveyard. The easiest of them would simply require new skins, voicework, and possibly faces (though this detail would not be as necessary, some of them likely being able to make use of the same faces as the main race they are apart of) to be made.Ī secondary possible requirement to implementation is a slightly altered starting experience. While adding these races would require some work, in some cases a lot, they would still require less effort and time than implementing say a major dungeon or battleground in several cases of them.
Compendium of the fallen Patch#
Many of these races could actually be added even in a patch or over time in multiple installment groups in different patches, not even requiring an expansion to bring focus to them because they already serve as members of the Alliance and Horde. These races are important and powerful valued allies in our battles, and I feel that they would add more variety to the game if made playable, in addition to being easier to implement than a full race. Yet among the noble races we play as, though they are incredibly vast and varied, with everything from Dwarves to Orcs to Elfs, Werewolves, and Zombies there are many other races similar but different in history, values, and appearance that fight alongside us, many in secret. We are the heroes of Azeroth that represent the best hope for both Azeroth’s future and the success of our faction as we rage war with sword, spell, and many other tools of destruction. In WoW we play many of these creatures that fight for the Alliance and Horde in a never-ending struggle for control, honor, and valor all over the planet while fighting off fierce enemies that wish to strike our home down and consume it in chaos. The World of Azeroth is a huge place and filled with countless creatures.
If you do not like long posts for whatever reason, leave now while you still have a chance, I’ll hold back the crazed Wolpertingers as long as I can!! As it is very lengthy, it might be a good idea to tab or temporarily bookmark it for later and read in short sessions if you want to read it completely and are occupied or otherwise do not have the desire to read it all the way through at once. It is also meant as a bit of light reading too. A Future Look at Possible Additions to WoW: Sub Racesĭisclaimer: This post is a personal compendium of conceptual ideas concerning the topic of Sub Races in the context of being added in WoW’s future.
